new short-term let licensing scheme
The Scottish Government has introduced Short Term Lets Licencing under legislation approved by the Scottish Parliament in January 2021. All short-term let properties in Scotland will require a licence. This is to ensure they are safe and the people providing them are suitable. The licensing scheme will require all licenced short-term lets to comply with mandatory conditions which will apply across Scotland. Local councils will check if the premises are compliant with all conditions. This will include: electrical safety, water safety, fire safety and general safety and repair standards.
With the new legislation coming in to play for all short term rentals, TMB have been studying our clients needs to ease the process and make sure you don’t lose any valuable rental income.
